"How far along should I be?"

The ideal time frame for a maternity session is 32-35 weeks. You want to be visibly rocking a baby bump but still feeling comfortable. If you are a first time mom, you might want to schedule closer to 34 weeks, if this isn't your first or you're having multiples, maybe a little closer to 32 weeks.

What should I wear?

I get this question all the time and my simple answer is "you be you, I'll bring my camera". Wear something you feel great in and the photos will reflect that. I realize that answer may not be super helpful, so if you have zero clue what you want to wear I'll chat about some of my favorite options below.

A little bit Dressy

There are TONS of maternity dress options out there. Keep it classic or look for something that fits your personal, everyday style.

Glam it Up

The maternity gown look is a great option if you want to go all out for a more formal vibe.

Bare that Bump

A fun option if you want to do a more intimate indoor session.

Keep it Casual

You can't go wrong with your favorite jeans and showing off that gorgeous belly.

“What should my family wear?”

Think complimentary, not matching. Neutrals with pops of color is always a great choice that photographs well. Most importantly, keep comfort in mind, if your family is comfortable they are more likely to be happy participants.

Let’s Talk Location

There are lots of great locations across the Dallas Fort Worth area. I tend to gravitate towards more natural and park like settings but there are some fun urban options as well. If you don't want to deal with the crazy Texas weather, an in home session might be a good fit or there are several natural light studio rentals that work great for maternity sessions.

Additional Session Info + Tips

Four Legged Kids

If your first child is furry, I’m happy for them to tag along.

Drink Up

I always recommend brining some water to keep you cool and hydrated.

Ditch the Heels

Some locations require a bit of walking. If your photo worthy shoes aren’t super comfy, bring an extra pair that you can easily slide on and off as we make our way from spot to spot.

Unmentionables

Certain dresses, especially the form fitting maternity gowns photograph best with the proper undergarments. Try everything on ahead of time to make sure you have the right bra, slip or shapewear.
